Everything you need to know about working with Hudson — whether you're a prospective client, a potential expert, or exploring a career with us.

Using Hudson for research

Q1

How quickly can Hudson source experts for a project?

Our standard turnaround is 48 hours from brief to first call — and for most urgent requests, we deliver curated expert shortlists within 24 hours. Each engagement begins with a dedicated research manager who personally owns the sourcing, screening, and scheduling from your first request to the final transcript.

Q2

What industries and geographies does Hudson cover?

We cover all major sectors — technology & semiconductors, healthcare & life sciences, financial services, consumer & retail, industrials & energy, real estate & infrastructure, and education & public sector. Our network spans 40+ countries across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific.

For specialized or niche sectors not in our standard coverage, we custom-source experts per project using proprietary databases, regulatory filings, and executive referrals.

Q3

How does pricing work?

Pricing varies by service type and engagement scope. Expert Interviews are typically priced per hour, with volume discounts for larger research programs. B2B Surveys and Custom Research engagements are scoped as fixed-price projects based on complexity and deliverables.

Q4

Can I conduct research on a blinded basis?

Yes. Clients can conduct research without revealing their firm identity to experts, minimizing speculation and reducing bias in expert responses. This is standard practice for competitive intelligence, M&A due diligence, and sensitive market research.

Q5

How is Hudson different from other expert networks?

Three key differences: First, we source experts fresh for every project — no database dumps, no recycled profiles. Second, every engagement is owned end-to-end by a dedicated research manager, not a rotating team. Third, our compliance framework is purpose-built for global primary research, with transparent audit trails and proactive conflict management.

Joining our network

Q1

How do I become a Hudson expert?

We identify experts through professional networks, industry directories, referrals, and direct outreach. If you have 10+ years of senior experience in a specific domain and would like to be considered for future opportunities, please reach out to hudson@hudsonexperts.com with your background.

We don't operate a self-sign-up network — all expert additions are vetted on a per-project basis to ensure quality and relevance.

Q2

How are experts compensated?

Experts set their own hourly rates and are compensated per completed engagement. Payment is processed within 72 hours of engagement completion. For regulated professions (government officials, licensed professionals), we verify and comply with all applicable ethical and institutional restrictions.

Q3

What types of engagements are available?

Most engagements are 30-90 minute one-on-one phone or video interviews. Additional formats include B2B surveys, advisory retainers for longer-term projects, and speaker programs for corporate client training sessions. Engagement frequency depends on client demand in your specific expertise area.

Q4

Will my participation conflict with my current employer?

Experts participate in their personal capacity, not as representatives of their employer. We recommend checking your employer's consulting policy before each engagement. Our compliance team proactively flags potential conflicts (competitor discussions, proprietary information topics) and experts retain the right to decline any engagement without penalty.

Integrity & risk management

Q1

What information can experts share during engagements?

Experts share their professional insights, industry knowledge, and publicly available information. They are strictly prohibited from sharing material non-public information (MNPI), proprietary data, employer-confidential details, or anything covered by active NDAs. Our compliance framework enforces these boundaries through pre-engagement screening, training, and real-time monitoring.

Q2

Are Hudson calls recorded and archived?

Calls are recorded only with explicit consent from both parties. All engagement metadata — screening questions, disclosures, session logs — is archived for 7 years per regulatory requirements. Clients can request transcripts for their internal compliance records.

Q3

How are conflicts of interest managed?

Every expert discloses their employment history, board seats, advisory roles, and financial interests before project matching. Our proprietary system runs 14 automated conflict checks against client exclusion lists before any expert is suggested. Conflicts disqualify participation — no exceptions.
